| 内容記述 | This study examined the role of local and global structures in the alignment illusion called the "disintegration-of-rectilinearity effect" (Giovanelli, 1966). The amount of illusion was measured by matching method and null method. The global structures such as the number and interval of figure elements were systematically changed. It was found that the amount of illusion increased with increasing number of figure elements. The local structures such as the eccentricity of figure element in the frame and the pattern of the frame were also changed. The amount of illusion increased as a function of eccentricity and was influenced by the shape of the frame. There was no significant difference between matching method and null method. It was concluded that local and global structures are cooperative in the disintegration-of-rectilinearity effect. | |||||||||||
