内容記述 The change of the vegetation distribution in the Sapporo region with the pasage of the year has been investigated through the analysis by using LANDSAT TM data in the year 1984,1991 and 1999. The results are summarized as follows : 1. Remarkable decrease of the vegetation area from 1984 to 1999 was found in the northern and northeastern parts of Sapporo City. In Sapporo City for seven years, the biggest decrease of the vegetation area was found in Kita Ward and it's area was 7.8km^2. On the other hand, the smallest decrease of the vegetation area was found in Cyuo Ward and it's area was 0.8km^2. 2. Although the decrease of the vegetation area for eight years from 1991 to 1999 was in the same area, it was slow down. In Sapporo City for seven years, the biggest decrease of the vegetation area was found in Kita Ward and it's area was 1.3km^2. In Shiraishi Ward the increase in the vegetation was found, it's area was 0.4km^2. 3. On the other hand, the remarkable increase of the vegetation area from 1984 to 1999 was found in the northeastern part of Higasi Ward. 4. The analysis by using TM data is very useful in the investigation of the vegetation distribution. However, data with higher resolution are necessary for the investigation of smaller parts with trees on streets or in gardens and etc.
